Blake lost 50 pounds by cleaning up his diet. Blake swapped out high-carbohydrate manufactured foods with zero nutrients for nutrient-dense whole foods. The weight melted off and he's feeling so much better!
Blake's Main Health Complaint
Full disclosure, Blake is my husband and he's technically my very first success story besides myself. He was unhappy with his appearance, the fit of his clothing (the fact that he felt like he was always forking over more cash for bigger jeans), and he generally felt like crap all the time.
Blake hadn't yet developed severe metabolic damage or illness, but he did have the very beginning signs of pre-non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. When we ran his genes, we found that Blake has genetic Hemochromatosis, which was causing him to store too much iron. Too much iron will make you tired and eventually cause organ damage.
Blake changed his diet when I began my healing journey and changed my diet. Blake didn't have any chronic illness to heal so he didn't have to be as strict, but he did change his diet pretty drastically.
He cut out sugar, starches, and grains and added in more fresh veggies and fatty meat. He traded snacks like cookies for almonds and cheese and salami. We stopped eating out and started eating home-cooked meals centered around fatty meat and vegetables at dinner time and I cleaned up the food I was packing in his lunches for work.
One major change that Blake made was to swap his beloved coconut water out for plain water. Coconut water has a ton of sugar, yes, fruit sugar is still sugar. This alone really cut down on his sugar intake. This was critical to Blake's success. Blake lost 50 pounds!
I feel so much better! It was pretty easy to make the required changes to my diet. It definitely helped that Heather made lunch and dinner for me. But I had to change what I was snacking on and drinking throughout the day.
At first, I definitely felt tired and run down a little more than usual, but once all the crap was out of my system I started to feel better pretty fast. The next thing I knew, my pants were falling down and I had to go back to the old jeans I had grown out of.
I no longer have pre-non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, I have a ton more energy, my iron levels are stable, my mood is better, I lost 50 pounds, and I can spend more money on Jeep parts instead of new jeans!
