Brandin Lost Over 100 lbs and Reversed Pre-Diabetes!

It has been a real treat to watch Brandin’s progress toward health recovery, he’s already lost over 100 lbs!

I met Brandin at a Phoenix Keto Locals meetup luncheon where I shared my own healing story. Afterward, Brandin came up to me and asked if I was taking on new clients and expressed his interest in working with me to recover his own health.

Brandin had recently begun his journey and was utilizing the ketogenic diet as a weightloss tool and was already seeing results. He was very excited to take things to the next level and had set up an appointment with Dr. Adam Nally for blood work and a full medical workup to see where things were.

Brandin’s Main Health Complaint

Brandin was morbidly obese at 518 lbs. and in constant pain. He was depressed and had definitely lost his way. He seemed desperate to feel better and was so excited about the small wins he was already seeing with keto, that I couldn’t help but want to see him continue with his success.

Our Approach

The root of Brandin’s health issues seemed to stem from insulin resistance. He came to me already having embarked on a ketogenic diet and he continued to follow a ketogenic approach to nutrition. Once fat adapted, Brandin began to add in exercise, cycle keto with carnivore, and experiment with intermittent fasting and supplementation.

Brandin’s Review

My name is Brandin Wilber and my whole life I struggled with my weight and the complications that came with morbid obesity. That is until I found keto and the awesome community of people that use it as a tool to improve their health.

In January 2019 I weighed a massive 518 lbs and had gotten to the point where I just didn’t care about anything anymore, least of all, my health. I was eating anything and everything I wanted and using alcohol to escape my reality. I suspect I may have been struggling with depression, but I was never officially diagnosed. I was miserable and in constant pain.

What I didn’t realize at the time is that I was also pre-diabetic, had high blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, my hormones were messed up, I had vitamin deficiencies, and I had chronic inflammation. I learned all of this with the help of Dr. Adam Nally who I started seeing as my primary care physician. I was a ticking time bomb. I literally could have dropped dead at any time.

In short, keto has not only changed my life for the better, but saved my life! Heather has been a big part of that, coaching me through my journey and providing guidance and advice as I learn about how diet and lifestyle changes are contributing to my recovery.

Over the last year, I have not only lost over 100 lbs (118 lbs to be exact), but I have reversed pre-diabetes. My blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides are within healthy ranges. I have begun to improve my hormone and vitamin levels, and have greatly reduced the crippling inflammation I struggled with.

Currently, I am about 1/3 of the way to my goal weight (220lbs) and am working on reversing my insulin resistance, optimizing my hormones and putting on more muscle mass (something I have struggled with my whole life because of low testosterone and high estrogen).

Heather is an amazing person and very knowledgeable about keto and nutrition in general and has an amazing success story herself! (ask her about it!)

Without the help of Heather, Dr. Adam Nally, M.D., Stephanie Holbrook, and the rest of the amazing keto community I have surrounded myself with I might not have made it this far!

I want to share my story with the world, you can keep up with my progress on Instagram!
