Mushrooms are, quite possibly, one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. This sauteed balsamic mushrooms side-dish recipe is a fantastic and delicious way to get more mushrooms into your diet. Even if you're not a huge fan of the mushroom, you might enjoy this dish.
From where I sit, you can never have enough side dish recipes in your pocket. Side dishes definitely help to spice up a meal, change things up and provide variety. Meal planning can become pretty monotonous and boring and I find that new side dishes can really help to liven things up!
This side dish really does the trick! We love mushrooms around here, but these are super delicious. Full of fat and flavor! The balsamic vinegar gives them a sweet and tangy kick. It's a very different flavor than you're used to when it comes to mushrooms. This is a great way to mix things up.
This mushroom dish pairs nicely with any main course meat dish. I usually make sauteed balsamic mushrooms alongside steak or my cayenne roasted quail recipe.
These mushrooms are also really great for topping burgers! If you can eat cheese, melt some gruyere, provolone, or even brie over the burgers and then top with these mushrooms for a super fancy burger. Totally date-night worthy! My hubby was pretty impressed.
You can spice this recipe up a little bit by adding fresh green beans or some red pepper flakes. If you really want a luxurious side-dish, add some crispy bacon crumbles!
