I had the pleasure of sitting down with Shawn Mynar of the Keto for Women podcast this week. Shawn is a doll, we have a really great connection and it was so fun to chat with her.
I love Shawn because she's focused not only on helping women with the ketogenic diet and improving physical health, but she's equally passionate about helping women with their mindset and emotional health.
I'm pretty proud of this podcast, I actually got a little more vulnerable than I have in past interviews. We talked about the role that the ketogenic diet played in enabling me to address cancer and autoimmunity while avoiding toxic conventional treatments and keeping my physical body intact. We also talked a lot about my emotional healing and the process I had to go through in order to heal completely.
Standard treatment of cancer and chronic disease is tumor focused or symptom-focused and I have found this approach to not only be limited, but harmful. In my experience not only with my own healing journey but also in networking with thousands of women with cancer and autoimmunity, the most healing happens when the person works to heal all aspects of their health and really optimize their life rather than focus on the tumor or the symptoms of their disease.
When I focused on healing my body, mind, and soul I learned a lot about myself and how I had been living. As I started to figure out what my values are and make changes to realign my life to those values my healing accelerated.
Head on over and give episode 126 of the Keto for Women podcast a listen, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the topic of values and illness.
